About me

Born in Aberystwyth, Wales in 1972, I have lived in Mid Wales for most of my life.  Having completed a few years of work after leaving school, I decided to embark on a degree course at University College of Wales Aberystwyth, School of Art.  I graduated in 2003 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and an MA in Fine Art in 2005.  During my BA course, I worked through the medium of printmaking and photography, using etching and stone lithography as a printmaker, and film and wet darkroom techniques as a photographer.

During my two years as an MA student, I worked solely through the medium of photography, producing large images of the remote landscape of the Scottish Highlands.  It was during this period that I purchased a medium format film camera, and all the work that I subsequently produced during my two years of study, was shot on 120 roll film.  The larger format negative allowed me to capture more detail on the film.

Since conpleting my studies, I now divide my time between working for Social Services, teaching on a part-time basis and producing my own work.  I have continued to produce more images of Scotland, but also more recently I have explored some of the landscapes found in Southern Ireland.
